Our client is a small charity based near Rugby, Warwickshire and as such is commutable from Coventry, Leicestershire, and most of Warwickshire.

The Senior Relationship Development Officer role sits within the engagement and communications department which is responsible for ensuring that the charity actively reaches and engages with the right audiences and this role will be instrumental in this.

The Role

The purpose of this Relationship Development Officer role is to represent our client and proactively promote its service offering to external stakeholders, increasing awareness and improving engagement.

This exciting opportunity reports directly in the Relationship Development Manager, although due to the nature of the role there is a great deal of autonomy, so the ability to work alone as well as part of a team will be vital. This role will require extensive travel to events across the UK, we anticipate an average of 2-3 days per week away from the office (in Rugby) during busy training periods (approx. 9 months of the year) which will include some breakfast and evening meetings, so flexibility is key! There is also the opportunity for some overseas travel (largely Europe) a couple of times a year.

Main responsibilities in a nutshell:

  • Promotion and relationship building (actively promoting the client at events through speaker engagement and networking, working with the wider team to design and run events)
  • Development opportunities (develop and implement plans to target stakeholder groups, identify and develop opportunities for future engagement events and initiatives)
  • Monitoring, analysis and reporting (measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of opportunities and activities)
  • Continued professional development

About You

The successful candidate will bring at least 3-4 years' experience, either in proactive relationship management or business development, and have demonstrable experience of building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, negotiating and managing expectations and promoting our services.

You'll also be responsible for a small team, so previous experience of direct line management is key.

Due to the nature of the role, you will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and you'll be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
