As Middleweight Copywriter, you will report to the Creative Director and work in a team of 5, dedicated to global technology clients. Ultimately, the focus of your output is on innovation and the future of business in an ever-changing digital world, and how your client's products and services will benefit businesses. You will write copy for existing and potential partners on the integration of innovative technologies in their solutions. This will involve complete campaign content, including website landing pages, email, social media copy, blog articles, infographics, video transcripts, scripts for animated videos and storyboarding video and animation projects. You will be used to taking complicated, long form copy and creating concise pieces for use in social media and infographics where there is little space or time available.
This role will require someone who can adapt quickly and be creative in their ability to manipulate and craft a subject around the media it is intended for. You may have some direct contact with clients, and you will be part of the briefing calls involving the Account Managers, who you will then liaise with regarding the copy. You will also be a key contributor during the campaign concept stages of a brief and will assist the creative team in generating ideas, campaign themes, and directions.
You are passionate about writing for a specific sector and appreciate being in a creative environment around friendly, hard-working people. You have good experience of understanding technical or niche products and services and writing compelling copy to engage your readers. You have an excellent command of spelling and grammar and strong proofreading skills. Whilst you do not need to come from a tech-based environment, you must be happy to immerse yourself and your copywriting skills in a particular area of expertise and have a passion for getting under the skin of it, understanding and writing for an audience who recognise specific terminology and particular use of language. Additionally, the ability to think outside the box with conceptual thinking would be an advantage, to help in developing creative concepts alongside the Creative Director when ‘bigger picture’ thinking is required.
